We at ChainPort are proud to announce that our bridging capabilities are being extended once again. ChainPort is launching support for the popular L2 solution Optimism as a porting direction. Optimism support advances ChainPort’s mission of uniting all leading blockchains with a secure bridge.
In addition to Optimism, ChainPort has added support for other EVM and non-EVM chains. In the near future, ChainPort will announce support for more chains.
Optimism is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that enables users to experience faster and cheaper blockchain transactions. Optimism utilizes a unique combination of optimistic rollups, zk-SNARKs, and Ethereum Virtual Machine. This combination keeps the underlying blockchain secure and private. The technology also leverages advanced cryptography and game theory incentives to protect against malicious actors and ensure the security of transactions.
Users can now port tokens from different blockchain ecosystems ChainPort supports to Optimism securely and efficiently. All users need to do is connect their wallets to the ChainPort app, select Optimism as the destination chain, and pick their source chain.
By adding Optimism as a target chain, ChainPort now supports a total of 15 different blockchains. ChainPort supports all leading chains, including Cardano, Ethereum, BNB, and many EVMs. Avalanche, BNB Chain, Fuse, Polygon, Fantom, Aurora, and Dogechain are among the EVMs supported.
Optimism’s mainnet launched in October 2021 and has been growing in popularity ever since. Users can pay transaction fees on Optimism in ETH rather than their OP tokens. The OP token is used for governance proposals and voting.
